Detektivi Robert Mirs gjendet në telashe. I është zhdukur kolegu i ngushtë dhe atë vetë e kanë pushuar nga puna. Si të mos mjaftonin këto, ai ka humbur kujtesën përkohësisht dhe kësaj nuk arrin t’i gjejë dot asnjë lloj shpjegimi. Për të zbuluar të vërtetën i duhet të kridhet në një realitet të ri, krejt ndryshe nga ai, me të cilin është mësuar e ku ndihet mirë, një realitet ku kujtimet mund të zhvendosen nga një trup te tjetri, ku grupe të fshehta luftojnë mes tyre për të sunduar dhe ku jeta e njeriut shkon përtej planetit Tokë.
A do të përbënte rrezik për punën, familjen dhe për atë vetë sikur të merrte pozicion në këtë konflikt?
